SW 602 HUMAN BEHAVIOR II: SOCIAL SCIENCE PERSPECTIVES

3.0 graduate credits

The goal of this course is to provide knowledge of social institutional factors that shape human behavior. Aspects of human behavior are examined in their social context, emphasizing structure, culture, class, ethnicity, race, sexuality, and age. Social and social psychological theories are examined for understandings of the interactions between individuals and the social environment. Contemporary human-social problems will be discussed from the perspective of social theory and in terms of personal and collective ethical stances.
