SW 621 SOCIAL WORK PERSPECTIVES ON PSYCHOPATHOLOGY

3.0 graduate credits

The purpose of this course is to identify and develop an understanding of the issues inherent in the study and assessment of abnormal behavior. The course explores current paradigms for viewing psychopathological behavior and analyzes the commonalities and differences among these perspectives, emphasizing possible explanations of causality. Major cognitive, affective, personality, and character disturbances will be addressed within the framework of the DSM III-R classification system.
