Investigates the development of the British novel over the nineteenth century and examines how representative texts reflected and shaped their historical and cultural contexts. Authors may include Jane Austen, Charlotte Bronte, Charles Dickens, George Eliot, Thomas Hardy, and Bram Stoker.
