This course will focus on a variety of topical areas related to the history of the United States in a global context diplomatically, economically, socially, and intellectually. The course is designed to promote in-depth analysis and interpretation of these areas emphasizing student-initiated and self-directed study and research. Historical research will include the use of primary and secondary historical source materials, traditional as well as quantitative methodology, computer resources, and oral history.
