MUSC 570 SEMINAR: LITURGY

3.0 graduate credits

Designed to present a study of the principles of liturgical worship as addressed in the Vatican II and post-Vatican II documents on the liturgy. This course will also address the historical and cultural influences on liturgy; look at the place of Art, Music, Dance and Drama in liturgical worship; Study the celebration of Eucharist and the other sacraments; the liturgy of the hours and the liturgical year. Some traditions of various denominations will be explored.
